An easy way to create content for all those who wish to contribute. It’s a framework for building your community.

  • Journal Index’s
  • Book reviews
  • Ability to subscribe to the site and get an email whenever a new post is published.
  • Search facility – by having indexes online you can search for a term and find out what issue it appears in.
  • Sidebar widget to display a rolling slide show of images from the earthsong FlickR archive
  • eNotes is now available by email when you subscribe to the site
  • A list of other web resources
  • Visitor analysis or web site metrics. Who is visiting the earsong website.

Stage 2 Building the web presence

You have to strive to make the site relevant.
Organic search engine optimization is best done by producing good original content.
How can I contribute? Some Ideas……
  • Everyone’s talent can be leveraged for use with the site.
  • If you have a photography talent, upload your photo’s to the FlickR archive.
  • When you have an event, take photographs and upload them to FlickR archive.
  • If  someone has an interest in meditation they could manage the section devoted to it.
  • If you would like to write on occasional or regular post, register on the site.
  • Twitter. If someone has an interest in this technology they could manage Twitter management.
  • Facebook\Myspace management
  • Create podcasts and allow them to be downloaded from the site. Record key note events
  • Scope for a practical tips section
  • Link to personal blogs
  • Those interested in bushwalking could have a regular destination rant
  • YouTube. You could create an Earthsong channel on YouTube and do interviews with persons of interest
  • Write an Earthsong entry on wikipedia
  • Event management. There is a plugin available that allows people to self register for an event
  • News feeds from other sites could be incorporated in to sidebars
  • Create a “Who are we” page on the site with small photographs and short Bio’s
  • List the membership of commitee’s and council
  • Develop an area for school students so that when a program runs at a school, students will come back to the site.
  • Offer targeted advertising in the sidebars
  • Add a PayPal donate button. 2 clicks and people can donate as little as a $1
  • Offer online payment for journal subscription
  • Develop web partnerships with like minded sites. Add links to each other.
  • Add a forum component to the site for frank and open discussion on set topics
  • Write an article for http://www.ezinearticles.com/ ….they get great google rankings
  • Develop 1 ebook per year and give it away on your site..
  • Publish details with Zoominfo
  • Add a media room on the site
  • Upload your powerpoint presentations to slideshare
  • Do book reviews on Amazon.com and plaster earthsong all over it.
  • Do surveys on your website and publish the results.
  • Think about video streaming live events to the web via ustream
